"RBKILA" goes 8.1@163mph!
Congratulations to Michael Ryan in “RBKILA” EF Falcon who clocked a blistering 8.1 secs at 163.99 MPH on Sunday 14 September. Running an Atomic SOHC 998 GT-R Engine at only 29 psi boost, the Falcon hooked hard to record the fastest time ever for a single cam inline Ford 6. Look out when it is cranked up to 35 psi and beyond!

Scott runs 10.2 @ 147

Congrats to Scott from TuffTune who ran a blistering 10.2 @ 147 MPH at Sydney Dragway on 5/6/2013 in his Atomic powered, CV Performance tuned FG sedan...on street tyres! This was the first time out with the car and it had serious traction issues, managing only a 1.8 sec 60’ and overpowered the track for almost the entire quarter mile. Next move is to sort out the traction probs, Scotty!

SIKFPV Runs 9.90
Allsparks Racing sponsored BF Ford “SIKFPV” runs a 9.90 secs at 147 MPH on a slippery track on 2/6/2013.

Running an Atomic 698 GT-A engine, Frank, Allsparks’ gun tuner had his work cut out for himself to get the big Falcon to hook up with over 500 RWKW on board, but was able to coax a 1.6 60” out of the big bird to run under the 10 second barrier for the first time.

The owner David was ecstatic and now plans to remove the spare tyre, the toolbox and the baby seat and try and get this fully street legal Ford to run even quicker!!!!

DOHC Head Revisions - Nov 2010
Beta testing and preliminary tuning of our latest VE Plus® cyl head and cam package has yielded impressive results on the dyno – 823kW (1108HP) at only 25 psi boost. The increased cylinder filling capacity creates massive torque and with substantial increases in cylinder blowdown, the boost is coming on like never before. Our tame racing driver is looking forward to putting the car on the track with this new combo. Some say he had his gall bladder removed to save weight and his favourite drink is Toluene and Coke...

DOHC Cylinder Head Revisions
We spent many hours over the past two months revising the combustion chamber/exhaust seat area of the DOHC head and are about to dyno & track test our new VE Plus® Head and Cam package. It features Stage 5+ Duo Phased Cams plus CNC machined 7 angle radius seat and elliptically machined chambers. We devised a way to relieve the area around the exhaust valve to a size greater than previously achieved and coupled with additional transition angles, achieves extraordinary increases on our flow bench. Beta testing on the dyno and at the track by our tame Racing driver, Spiro Anton will follow in the coming weeks. Some say he has a super strong right leg and has been known to crush accelerator pedals right through the floor pan when racing...

Congrats to Kent Battle of Townsville who won the Dyno Shootout at the NQ Nationals held in Cairns on 21/8/2010. He dominated the event in his auto equipped BA ute, competing against a number of turbocharged 6 cylinders as well as supercharged Big Block Chev powered vehicles. He recorded a blistering 984 HP at the tyres with only 27 psi boost. These figures are quite remarkable considering the high ambient temperatures and humidity of the Tropics. Kent is running our latest VE Plus CNC head and Cam combo in his Atomic powered weapon.

Congrats to all competitors at the Elite Automotive Dyno shootout on May 15. A couple of standout results were the Atomic powered Fords of Spiro Anton and Braden Ilisse. Spiro cleaned up all comers with a blistering 771kW at the tyres (1034.6HP) and Braden was second in his green FG with 734kW (984HP) through a C-4 auto. Braden’s results were backed up later that night at Willowbank Raceway with a 10.08 at 128MPH – severe traction problems limited it to only a ¾ track pass.

I would recommend Brad and the Atomic team to anyone considering performance upgrades to their late model Falcon. They are second to none! I had my engine rebuilt to a 698GT-A and throughout the process their customer service, knowledge, and advice gave me complete confidence in their work.

The new engine has now done over 10,000Kms without a hiccup, and is producing over 500Hp at the rear wheels with lots of head room for more power.

Congratulations to Bill, another customer running out of G-Tech who ran Australia’s quickest and fastest time ever seen in a Ford XR6-T on 30 April 2010. Dennis, the maestro tuner from G-Tech was finally able to get the prodigious power of the Atomic 998-R engine to the track to record an 8.7 secs at 164 MPH.....bettering the record by 4/10’s of a second – quite an achievement for a 4000lb car. And he tells us there is plenty more to come! (To run 164 MPH in a 4000lb car requires about 1600HP)

Spiro Anton cranks and impressive 663 RWKW from his Atomic 698GT-A engine on race fuel. After achieving record setting power levels on pump gas, Spiro decided to see what it would do with race fuel and another 10 psi of boost – and Jamie, the ace tuner from 6 Boost was just the man to answer his question. Congrats to Kyle, Jamie and all the team at 6Boost!

F1 inspired pistons for Ford DOHC 6 cyl
Atomic Performance Products specialise in high performance street and race Ford DOHC inline 6-cylinder engines and manufacture a range of specialised components to suit.

Atomic are proud to announce the creation of a programme with the world’s leading independent race engine supplier, Cosworth of Northampton, UK to develop high performance pistons and ancillary equipment for the Atomic-Ford 6 cyl DOHC engine. Cosworth developed a range of components to upgrade the power output of Ford 4 cyl engines which eventually led to the production of Cosworth 4, 6, 8 and 10 cylinder engines. The legendary Cosworth DFV (Double Four Valve) engine amassed 167 Formula OneTM wins over a 20-year period – more than any other engine. Cosworth have produced a completely new forged piston for Atomic, which has some very unique features derived from the current Cosworth Formula One engine – the CA 2010.

Congratulations to Spiro Anton who achieved 492.4 RWKW on pump fuel at only 25 psi boost to give him the title of the “Most powerful manual trans BA Ford 6 cyl” in the country. Running an Atomic 698 bottom end with one of our latest VE Plus® cylinder head/cam combos, tuner Paul at Elite Performance saw an increase of 90 RWKW at 3 psi LESS boost over the previous combination, which propelled his car to an Australian record of 11.04 secs at 138 MPH. Now all he needs to do is get the power to the ground – poor 60’ times and wheelspin all the way to the 1000’ mark means the car has plenty of potential left!
