Atomic High Rev Hydraulic Lifters – Ford Barra DOHC | ‘Anti Pump-Up’ | 8000+ RPM Safe | Preload Set Ready
Description:
Designed in collaboration with Crow Cams, the Atomic High Rev 'Anti Pump-Up' Hydraulic Lifters are purpose-built to handle the extreme demands of high-RPM Barra engines — where valvetrain stability can make or break a build.
Featuring double the bleed-off rate of factory lifters, these lifters are engineered to operate cleanly and reliably beyond 8000 RPM, reducing the risk of valve separation, float, or catastrophic top-end damage. These lifters help maintain consistent valve contact, improve longevity of valvetrain components, and are ideal for high-performance street and race applications.
✅ Suits Ford Barra DOHC 4.0L 6-cylinder engines (BA–FGX)
✅ Developed in partnership with Crow Cams
✅ Double the bleed-off rate vs standard lifters – reliable at 8000+ RPM
✅ Helps prevent valve float, rocker breakage, and cam damage
✅ Promotes stable valve control with stiffer springs and big cams
✅ Reduces wear and extends life of valvetrain components
✅ Maximum recommended preload: 0.75mm (0.030") for street use
✅ Must-have upgrade for any high-RPM or turbocharged Barra build
✔️ Maintain consistent valve contact at high RPM
✔️ Reduce the risk of valve float, separation, and top-end failure
✔️ Support aggressive cam profiles and stiff spring rates
✔️ Ideal for engines spinning beyond 7500–8000 RPM
✔️ Backed by real-world durability and proven in Atomic 1000+hp builds
⚠️ ALL hydraulic lifters — regardless of brand — must be checked for correct preload during installation.
Excessive preload can cause:
Valve train noise (especially cold)
Reduced lifter life and premature failure
Valve float or loss of power at high RPM
Potential valve burning due to incomplete valve closure
Hydraulic lifters rely on oil pressure to maintain zero lash and compensate for heat-related expansion. Excessive preload forces the internal plunger too deep, effectively turning the lifter into a solid unit and eliminating its self-adjusting function. This can result in catastrophic engine damage under load.
➡️ Maximum recommended preload: 0.75mm (0.030")
➡️ See included instructions for correct preload checking method
Set of Atomic High Rev Hydraulic Lifters (24 pieces)
