Atomic Race Spec Oil Pump
Precision Oil Pressure
When it comes to high-performance Barra DOHC builds, oil pressure isn’t just important—it’s critical. The Atomic Race Spec Oil Pump takes the proven factory alloy design and re-engineers it for serious horsepower and sustained high RPM reliability. Every pump is hand-finished and ported by our engine technicians before final assembly.
Tested before it leaves the workshop. We don't just bolt them together. Every single Atomic Race Spec pump is assembled, primed, and run-in on our specialized oil pump dyno. This verifies peak pressure and volumetric efficiency, ensuring your engine gets the flow it needs from the very first crank.
The Atomic Standard
We start with a genuine OEM alloy housing, which we deburr and port by hand to remove casting flash and improve oil flow velocity. We then fit our race-proven Gas Nitrided Billet Steel Gears and matching Chromoly backing plate to eliminate gear chatter and plate flex. It is the perfect balance of OEM fitment with race-grade internals.
Choose Your Pressure
Medium Pressure
Application: VCT Setups
Optimized for engines retaining the factory Variable Cam Timing (VCT) system. Provides consistent pressure to maintain phaser control.
- Optimized for VCT phaser stability
- Perfect for street/dyno-tuned builds
High Pressure
Application: Non-VCT & Race
The choice for race engines running VCT delete kits or high-stress applications where maximum oil volume is required to combat heat and G-force oil migration.
- Maximum bearing protection
- Ideal for high-stress track/drag usage
Technical Specifications
Housing: Genuine OEM Ford Alloy (Hand Ported)
Gears: Atomic Gas Nitrided Billet Steel
Backing Plate: Nitrided Chromoly (CRMO)

⚠️ Critical Install Notes
- Prime Before Start: You MUST pack the pump gears with petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or thick assembly lube during install to ensure the pump captures suction instantly on the first crank.
- Cleanliness: A clean housing is essential. Use a fresh pickup tube O-ring to prevent cavitation.
- Inspection: We recommend inspecting the pump housing for scoring before installing new gears.
