The factory Ford Barra oil pump internals are a notorious weak link in high-performance engines. The OEM gears are made from sintered iron (compressed metal powder) which is brittle and prone to shattering under high RPM, boost, or drivetrain shock. The factory backing plate also flexes, causing pressure loss at high RPM.

⚠️ Critical Install Notes
Check Housing Wear: This kit is designed for serviceable OEM housings. If your housing is heavily scored or worn, it must be replaced to ensure proper oil pressure.
Cleanliness is Key: Ensure all parts and the housing are surgically clean before assembly. Any debris can score the new gears or housing.
Prime Before Start: Pack the pump with petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or assembly lube to ensure immediate priming on first startup. Dry starts kill pumps!
