The Atomic 698 GT-A is a precision-engineered, high-performance long engine designed for enthusiasts who demand the ultimate in power and reliability. Built upon a foundation of carefully selected and prepared components, the 698 GT-A delivers exceptional horsepower and torque while ensuring the durability needed for demanding applications.

💡 DID YOU KNOW?

This engine uses F1 Tech. The 698 GT-A features Cosworth F1 Series pistons forged from Cosworth's proprietary aerospace alloy. These aren't off-the-shelf parts, they are special order from a very special company; they feature Xylan-coated skirts, 6 internal support struts, and a fully polished crown to reflect heat. They are designed to absorb 9 tonnes of combustion force, 60 times per second. This equates to roughly 2000nm, or 1500kw at 7000rpm.

Engineering Highlights

Rotating Assembly

Cosworth F1 Pistons paired with Atomic Superleggera Billet Rods (CA625 Bolts). Balanced to race tolerances. Atomic prepped factory crank ready for high RPM. 

Stage 4 Head

Fully Hand Ported with CNC valve job. Oversize Stainless Valves and Ovate Race Springs for high RPM stability. Deburred, pressure tested, tunnel honed for guaranteed reliability.

Bottom End

10mm Billet Main Girdle and windage tray. ACL Competition bearings with 360-degree thrust and hi-flow mod to rear bearings.

Oiling & Timing

Atomic Steel Race Series Oil Pump with our gas nitrided billet gears and backing plate, and HD Timing Chain Kit. Includes ATI Super Damper for harmonic control.

Detailed Build Specifications

1. Block & Crank

  • Block: Ultrasonic tested seasoned Ford block, selected for max wall thickness. Deburred oil/coolant passages.
  • Crank: Stage 2 prepared factory crank. Crack tested, polished, and chamfered.
  • Machining: Torque plate honed, decked to crank centerline, main saddle alignment checked. Fine RA deck finish.

2. Pistons & Rods

  • Pistons: Cosworth F1 Series Dish Top. 8.7:1 Compression. Xylan skirts & Polished crowns.
  • Rods: Atomic Superleggera Billet Steel. Pressure-fed pin oiling. CA625 Bolts.
  • Rings/Pins: Hastings High-Strength rings and HD floating pins with locks.

3. Head & Valvetrain

  • Porting: Atomic Stage 4 Hand Porting & Streamlined injector tracts.
  • Valves: Stainless Oversize Valves with CNC valve job.
  • Springs: Ovate Wire Race Spec Springs with H/D collets and Titanium Retainers.
  • Cams: Atomic Billet Camshafts (Customer choice of profile).
  • Drive: Atomic HD Timing Chain Kit with Billet Sprocket and Guide.
  • Lifters: Atomic Anti-Pump Up Lifters.

4. Bolt-Ons & Consumables

  • Included: 14L of Run-in Oil, Filter, NGK Plugs, New Gaskets/Seals, Brass Welch Plugs.
  • Included: Powder coated Rocker/Timing covers (Choice of color).
  • Included: Atomic/ATI Super Damper & Billet Steel Oil Pump.

Every 698 GT-A is fully Test Run in our in-house engine cell before delivery. You will receive a comprehensive build report verifying oil pressure, compression, and operation.
