The Problem
Standard Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) gaskets are great, but under extreme cylinder pressures (high boost), the layers can separate leading to combustion leaks. In a high-horsepower Barra, a standard gasket is often the fuse that blows first.
💡 DID YOU KNOW?
"MLS-D" stands for Diesel Style. Unlike a standard MLS gasket where layers are stacked, an MLS-D gasket folds the outer layers back over the center layer at the cylinder bore. This creates a super-strong "Ring" seal that is virtually impossible to blow out.
The Atomic Solution
We've standardized the MLS-D Head Gasket across our premium gasket range. At 1.00mm thick with a folded bore architecture, this gasket offers the sealing capability of a wire O-ring setup without the need for expensive block machining. It’s the ultimate "drop-in" upgrade for any boosted Ford 6. These have been used beyond 1500hp and 45psi of boost without issues and do not deteriorate and weep over time like alternative gasket solutions capable of sealing 1500hp.
