Description:
Built for boosted Barra street and strip engines, the Atomic Performance Valve Springs are engineered to deliver reliable valve control at a variety of engine power levels and RPM ranges.
We test every spring one by one and group them into very closely matched sets. Think of it like flow matching injectors. Each time the cam pushes against a spring the motor slows down a bit. If every spring is the same, the ECU will be able to smoothly set the idle. If each spring varies the idle RPM varies more, that creates more noise and vibration and a less smooth RPM signal.
Stage 1 | Suits fairly standard engines up to around 600hp |
Stage 2 | Suits built motor, upgraded turbo, higher compression, or high revving motors up to ~800hp |
Stage 3 | Suits motors that are streetable and pushing towards 1000hp |
Stage 4 |
Suits motors similar to stage 3 but with larger valves or HD rockers |
Stage 5 | Suits 1200+ hp motors that rev hard, have extra valvetrain weight and issues with exhaust back pressure. |
