Atomic HD Double Roller Rockers
The Problem: Factory Parts are Gone
Genuine Ford Barra rocker arms are officially discontinued (NLA). You simply cannot buy them new anymore. This leaves engine builders with a difficult choice: reuse tired, high-mileage rockers that have been subjected to years of wear, or find a superior aftermarket solution.
Friction kills valve guides. Standard rockers slide across the valve tip, creating side-loading friction that wears out valve guides over time. Our Double Roller design puts a roller bearing on both the cam lobe and the valve tip, converting that sliding friction into smooth rolling motion for ultimate refinement. Used by Xplicit Racing BAD boat at 1500+HP up to 8600rpm for extended racing.
The Atomic Solution
The Atomic HD Roller Rocker is not just a replacement; it's an evolution. Featuring a robust "Double Roller" architecture with widened cam lobe roller, these rockers reduce valvetrain friction, lower oil temperatures, and provide the structural strength needed for heavy valve springs and high-lift cams. It is the definitive solution for anyone wanting to future-proof their Barra head.

2. Engineered for Refinement
For builders who want the smoothest possible engine operation, minimizing friction is key.
- Roller Tip Technology: Eliminates the "scrubbing" action of the factory pad on the valve stem, significantly extending valve guide life.
- Reduced Friction: Frees up horsepower and reduces heat generation in the cylinder head.
- High Strength Body: Designed to withstand the increased spring pressures of Stage 3+ valve springs without flexing or fatigue.

⚠️ Installation Notes
- Clearance Check: While designed as a direct replacement, always check clearance with aftermarket retainers or extremely large camshafts.
- Lubrication: Pre-soak rockers in engine oil prior to installation to ensure bearings are lubricated on first startup.
- Lifter Preload: Ensure your lifter preload is correctly set (using shims or Atomic Anti-Pump Lifters) to account for any geometry changes in the head (e.g. valve tip height or deck machining).
-
Valve spring Recommendations: Due to the slight additional weight on the valve tip we recommend ~+10lbs spring pressure compared to a standard weight rocker arm. We would suggest 110-120lbs for most set ups with these rockers.
