Description:
High-performance Ford Barra engines demand a high-performance oil pump — and Atomic has engineered the answer. The Atomic Race Spec Steel Oil Pump (Medium Pressure variant) is a fully prepped, blueprint-matched, and bench-tested unit designed to deliver stable, reliable oil pressure in performance builds retaining Variable Cam Timing (VCT).

This pump features precision-cut billet steel gears, a gas-nitrided CRMO backing plate, and a cast steel housing that expands significantly less than OEM or billet aluminium bodies — keeping oil pressure consistent across the temperature range, even under race conditions.

With a target relief pressure of ~80psi, this pump provides enough pressure and volume to support high-horsepower, VCT-equipped builds without triggering ECU faults or causing cam control issues — a known issue with over-pressured systems.

⚙️ Spring Selection & Tuning Advice:

  • 🟢 Medium Pressure (~80psi) – Recommended for VCT-equipped engines (prevents cam control errors and VCT lockout)

  • 🔴 High Pressure (>100psi) – Recommended for vernier gear or VCT-delete engines with fixed cam timing
